So I just need to taper the dart all the way to the other side of the pattern peice, and I can just cut the new peice out as a flat pattern adjustment! This stuff is all so new and strange to me. I thought it would be intuitive, but for some reason, I keep not understanding the most basic aspects of fitting. I'll give it a shot and show ya'll what I come up with.
In the meantime, I've been thinking about fabrics for my new upcoming palatte challenge.
Ive been in love with brocade for a while, and there was this awesome post on Burdastyle about it recently that triggered my creative juices, followed by all those trippy wild weaves in India.
I dont really have the occasion to wear a full on brocade dress like this:

but I think that a straight skirt could work. I was inspired way back with Elizabeth's awesome designer fabric on a simple pattern- I thought it looked very professional, totally fabulous, and easy to wear, but also doable for a new sewer.

I love those art nouveu versions in the middle. And that last one looks like it could be totally remade using the Marie from Burdastyle. Nice! (Its a free download too, so if I were you, I'd check it out!)
