SSS First post!

So, SSS is upon us!

days 1-6 were a whirlwind of dust- I'll post pictures as I find them, but I wore...

9/1- NOTHING i made myself. Epic fail. but I blame this on the fact that it was 2am by the time we ate and set up camp--too tired to put on my glittery duds and dance till dawn. On the bright side of things, I only wore thrifted clothes, (short jumpsuit, cowboy ankle boots)

9/2--stretch velvet leopard print wristy things! Went wonderfully with a recycled langa with mirror embroidery(from when I was 2 or 3) into skirt, done by my mom when I was in high school, and a floor length blue velvet coat that could only come from a San Francisco thrift store. great for cool desert nights, bad for dark porta-potties. next time, I wont make them come all the way down to the fingers. I also wore the neck ruff I ostensibly made for DBF, but stole back :)

9/3--camo skirt! was awesome for dancing. leopard print top! it was fabulous, though fell apart during the day. need to stop using the basting stitch on finished clothes. Or at least have latex body paint on hand for when the inevitable happens...

9/4-- altered American Apparel shorts, scarf recycled (shortened) from an Indian outfit with help from a tailor from before I knew how to use a rolled hem foot. Actually, I still don't know how to use a rolled hem foot, but nowadays, I'd have at least attempted this job myself! turquoise fuzzy for later--- was great with striped tights and ruffle panties (that I didn't make) for burn night.

9/5--day wear of black cotton skirt that came from some unknown source, planned on putting white ruffles, or fur, but didn't find a needle for the last minute sewing, also a velvet tank top with fur edging- that I didn't add, but someone happy raver did at some point in the past...but added turquoise fuzzy again for night

9/6- Kept the evening's outfit on, including turquoise fuzzy for the ride home- made for a hilarious and dust-filled encounter at a Jack n' the Box in Sparks, Nevada, just outside Reno. And
then put on a SSS lite outfit- ankle boots with self added star studs, jeans rescued by professional patching (I didn't do the patching, but I did come up with the idea to rescue them from certain doom of crotch holes out of a friends throwaway pile)and a T shirt from a clothing swap that was already altered by the previous owner, but I cut it more, and re-sewed the sides.

9/7- Back to work.

Skirt is my second take on the Titus Perfect Skirt pattern. Second ever piece of clothing I made, and probably the most wearable yet.
