This was my first dress! (That's me on the right) The fabric was a blue quilting cotton with white polka dots bought for almost free at SCRAP in San Francisco, and it turned out great, with the exception of the zipper (which I may show you sometime.) I am totally making this dress again! I cut a size 40, but next time I'll add a 1/2 inch between the bust darts, and cut out an inch or so from the waist. Here I am with my friends, who are so impressed they want one too! I will have to think about that---the selfish seamstress might not be so pleased if I veer from her teachings so early on, and with her own pattern :).This dress bikes well too--a must for any bay area girl...

yay! thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute cute dress. I'm really impressed!
ReplyDeleteThanks, saro- I was shocked at how well it came out. The pattern was free, and super easy, especially with the Grosgrain Frock by Friday tutorial. I think I linked to it somewhere on one of these posts.
