Posts about to be a little sporadic...

Dear readers, I'll be back in full force in January. But in the meantime, here's what I'll be up to:

1.Trying to finish off those UFOs. You know the ones...those piles of cut out shapes that cover the floor and every spare surface of my house...the ones I list each week like it'll make me feel like looking at them...
-If I actually finish anything, I'll post, never fear.

2. Traveling!

(I can barely contain myself)

I'm hoping I dont have to buy a whole extra suitcase to deal with the shopping I am about to do!!

3.Culling patterns-I went a little pattern crazy this year, I have to say. I'm not sure a sewing in my position needs more than a dozen patterns to be able sew any conceivable thing that I have skills for, but instead, I have somehow accumulated more than I care to admit.

with each extra pattern, and each extra piece of fabric, I find myself more confused and paralyzed by indecision. So----time for at least SOME of these to head back into the world for someone else to try out.My logic is that maybe if I don't have five different sheath dresses with princess seams and neckline variations, I'll actually sew one of them.

Keep checking back- once I finalize my list, I'll post. And you can tell me which ones you want!

  3. I think I wouldn't cull patterns yet. I culled about six years ago and am still kicking myself. Just my advice :)

    I hope you take many, many, many photos in India. Everytime I tell my mom I'm going someplace, she asks me when we're going to India. I tell her for my 40th birthday and she reminds me that she'll be 70 by then, lol.

  4. I just found you from Cidell's blog. Thanks for having me blog on your blogroll. YOU'RE GOING TO INDIA?!?! You will not be able to contain yourself. I've never been, but I've heard that it's fabric heaven. Have fun and keep in mind that fabric makes your suitcase heavy. Claudine

  7. Ok, internet ate my post AGAIN!

    Found you via Cidell's blog post and I met her IRL only this past October. Isn't she great?

    So, my opinion:

    - Postpone the cull, make a list and only remove duplicates, if any;
    - Bring less clothes than plan and an empty suitcase. Locate body scale BEFORE going to airport;
    - Photograph anything and everything, others need inspiration.

    Good luck, have a safe trip and happy shopping. If you go crazy, the net is FULL of people who'll help you with that problem, LOL!
