Scarf Tara done!

Ahh! this is garment number 5 for me, and it turned out pretty sweet! First time casing, and first time with a pain-in-the-ass slippery fabric. And despite all of my big talk about reusing fabric, this is my first really successful garment conversion-scarf to dress, in this case.

and from the back:

It feels like summer!

(The dress, not the weather,.)

The sleeve edge stitcing was a pain (note to others working on the Tara- I think it would be easier to roll those edges if you cut the sleeves on the bias.)My other mistakes were operater error, for sure. But overall, pretty easy I think! I used Kathleen's technique to add coverage in the bust, which worked pretty well, but may take it up another inch.

  1. Gorgeous! I really like what you did with the border.

  2. Thanks! it was a border print scarf, so it involved cutting the peices in so that it lined up that way---which is why its longer on the sides than the middle...not sure if that makes sense...
