weekly goals, here i come!

progress on past goals, and new ones too...Im finally getting that mojo back...

1. lady grey muslin peices cut, and sewn! only one month late!...fits pretty well, but will check in with a sewing class-fit clinic just to make sure.
(I went with size 10, graded down to 8 at the hips.)And I bought 2 choices of fabric- one is a black and white medium weight wool for ...2$ a yard!!!! the other is a pink and brown boucle (not sure if its wool or synthetic) and matching sateen pink linig. for 2.50 a yard!!! I rock! What this all means is that I can stop stressing about a 60$ project and make this a 20$ project where i can start cutting with glee. Its about time:)Im leaning towards the boucle---but y'all can give me your views on that matter.

on the other hand, I have officially spent more time stressing about whether to go into the crazy gertie details than actually sewing. At this point, these decisions are going to have to wait till after halloween- I can only commit to so much hand stitching at a time.

2. Short pants almost done! they look like a cheap pair of knit yoga pants for the time being- due to inadequate topstiching. I may try them again in the striped corduroy I bought for this purpose.Just cuffs, buttons, and hand-topstitching left to go! (I'll save that for my commute). Unfortunately, I've misplaced them now, so I cant do any more this week till I find them.

3. JJ blouse cut out! I'm trying out my first FBA. Wish me luck :)
4. no Anda this week, but I did finally cut out the tablecloth dress--its a free pattern bernia dress that was the second Frock By Friday- which was a challenge due to multiple stains on the fabric and a major oversight of forgetting to add seam allowances. Oh well- if it turns out too small, I'll donate it and move on.

4. planned out the halloween costume, and collected my materials. Based on a fortuitous find of someone's stash of peacock feathers left on the street, Im going to be a peacock! (though i might wind up looking more like a vegas showgirl.)

sequens, and feathers, and face-jewels, oh my! As usual, I may have bitten off more than I can chew....

So- What to do this week?

1. Add arms and collar to the Lady Grey muslin, and pack it to go to class this weekend.
2. Sew up the JJ blouse. (at least the bodice)- to discuss fitting in class this weekend.
3. Try to find pants, and if I do, add cuffs, to discuss fitting.
4. Do one step on FBF.
5. Draft halloween costume (Skirt into drop crotch pants, purple into shruggie thing.)

Pictures to come!
