(I dont know how to link pictures to the internet yet, but this version is by sewholic, and was featured on Burdastyle, among many other places)
I've come to accept that mine will not look that good. I don't have skills like that. But, aspiration is always nice!
I still aim to finish that muslin this week, if I can.
Didnt have time to do any sewing on the Day of the Dead outfit, though what I threw together did work, after all...next year, Im planning ahead a little more, hopefully.
. (You can't even see the costume I did do in this picture, but someone hasn't uploaded his digital photos all week--hint, hint.)Got the LBD pattern in the mail, and found the right fabric, at the right price:). Some day I'll find a beautiful jaquerd weave black fabric that has just a hint of pattern on it, to do a better version of this dress.
Something like this, but black on black. And less shiny.

But for now, I'm calling it a muslin. Yeah. its time for me to put one more dress in the damn queue. The Uniform Project is even doing a sew-a-long! wont be as good as Gertie's, I can tell that already. But the dress is thrilling anyway.

I like the shoutout to aspiration!
